In advance of the 2014 November election, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility endorsed Erin McGann in her bid for Austin City Council, District 9.
Dustin Matocha, TFR’s executive director, praised McGann.
“Erin McGann’s no-nonsense approach to governing would be a refreshing change from the two tax-and-spend liberal incumbents running in District 9. Ms. McGann has nobly served her community for many years, including her career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice working to ensure successful rehabilitation and reentry for criminal offenders. McGann has also served on Austin’s Citizens Review Board helping residents resolve disputes with the Austin Police Department and has been involved in numerous other community service projects.
“Ms. McGann understands that Austin’s transportation and affordability problems won’t be solved by sending the same entrenched incumbents back to City Hall. Her commitment to responsive service to her constituents is commendable, as well as her commitment to addressing affordability and transportation issues with fiscally responsible public policy.”
