As the House Select Committee on Transparency in State Agency Operations meets today to consider impeaching UT Regent Wallace Hall, the question that should be on everyone’s minds is: Where’s the tape?

Last week lawyers for Hall wrote a letter to the committee asking its chairman, Dan Flynn, to release an audio recording of the August 22, 2013 UT Board of Regents meeting. The committee is apparently in possession of that audio but has yet to release it to the public or to the Travis County DA’s office. The audio apparently blows so many holes in the deceptive report published by committee lawyer Rusty Hardin that it prompted Flynn to walk back the report in a letter to a fellow committee member last week.

As reported by the Wall Street Journal today, the facts are now showing that there is massive corruption at UT Austin, and that Wallace Hall has been targeted because he asked uncomfortable questions about that corruption. The corruption involves some members of the legislature who are targeting him.

The public deserves to know the truth. Where’s the tape?
