AUSTIN, Texas—Highlighting his long record of bold conservative advocacy, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility has joined conservatives in endorsing Chris Ekstrom for Congress.

“Chris Ekstrom is a committed, conservative businessman and activist with a real record of championing the values Texans hold dear,” said Cary Cheshire, vice president of Texans for Fiscal Responsibility. “Chris Ekstrom is a political outsider who is committed to fighting alongside President Donald Trump and drain the swamp, and he isn’t afraid of ruffling feathers in the process.”

“Chris Ekstrom is exactly the kind of candidate Texans need fighting for them against the radical left and entrenched Washington interests,” Cheshire added.

A businessman, donor, and activist, Ekstrom is a known commodity in the Lone Star State, where he’s fought on the frontlines for conservative issues and icons, including historical monuments targeted for destruction by radical progressives.

Since announcing his campaign in October, Ekstrom has campaigned aggressively across the 13th Congressional District, which encompasses much of the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma border.

He’s also attracted national attention and earned the endorsement of conservatives including Congressman Mo Brooks of Alabama and the Club for Growth—all while facing off against a crowded primary field.

Early voting begins on February 18 and runs through February 28 for the election to conclude on Tuesday, March 3.

Texans for Fiscal Responsibility’s decision to endorse Ekstrom in this race comes through careful review of a completed candidate questionnaire, an interview with our staff, a review of his record of activism, and feedback from district constituents.
