AUSTIN, Texas—Acknowledging his strong record of fighting for citizens’ liberties against overreach and his defense of President Donald Trump against unfounded, partisan attacks, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility has announced its endorsement of U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe of Heath for re-election to Congress.

“John Ratcliffe is a proven conservative with a record of standing up for taxpayers and their interests in Washington, and Texans for Fiscal Responsibility is proud to endorse him as he seeks re-election to Congress,” said TFR Vice President Cary Cheshire. “Texans can trust John Ratcliffe to continue fighting for conservative reforms in the House of Representatives.”

First elected in 2014 in a successful campaign against a 17-term incumbent, Ratcliffe has been one of conservatives’ strongest advocates in Congress. Ratcliffe, a former U.S. attorney, has helped lead the fight to hold the deep state in Washington accountable for their corrupt and unconstitutional violation of the rights of conservative citizens, including President Donald Trump.

His record of standing up for taxpayers has been likewise superb, earning top marks from national conservatives like Heritage Action and the Club for Growth.

Ratcliffe is unopposed in the Republican primary and is the heavy favorite to win the general election in November. Ratcliffe’s 4th Congressional District encompasses a stretch of Red River counties north of Dallas, Rockwall County just east of Dallas, and most of the northeast corner of the state, including Texarkana.

Texans for Fiscal Responsibility’s decision to endorse Ratcliffe and other incumbents in their re-election races comes after a diligent review of the lawmaker’s voting record, advocacy record, and feedback from district constituents.
