Tens of thousands of supporters gathered last week in Dallas to attend President Donald Trump’s rally at the American Airlines Center. Texas Scorecard interviewed supporters in line for the rally, where their reasons for supporting Trump ranged from his business experience to his foreign policy.

“He’s an outside businessman,” said Aaron, a Trump supporter selling Trump merchandise at the rally. “He gets the job done.”

Kiki, another attendee, echoed Aaron’s statement. “He’s not a politician; he’s a businessman.”

Jarrod pointed to Trump’s policy of “American First.” “He’s for America and for Americans.”

One veteran spoke solidly in favor of Trump’s foreign policy, particularly his recent moves regarding the Kurdish situation in Syria. “Now, there’s 3.5 million people that can go home from Syria,” Kerry said. “That’s what it’s all about … getting those people back home.”

The Republican primary election is March 3, 2020. The general election is November 3, 2020.
