Elon Musk Visits Texas-Mexico Border to Expose Crisis

EAGLE PASS—As both federal and state governments continue failing to secure the southern border, Elon Musk took a trip to Eagle Pass—a Texas border town inundated with illegal crossers—to expose the crisis.

Musk live-streamed his visit on X, saying his goal was to expose the crisis at the border with unedited, unfiltered video evidence.

“If we don’t do something soon, we’re just going to have a collapse of social services,” he said.

Earlier this week, Musk—CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and X (formerly Twitter)—said he had spoken to U.S. Rep. Tony Gonzales (R–TX) about the open border crisis.

In the past, Gonzales has been praised as the “Border King” by presidential hopeful Nikki Haley.

However, Gonzales has been censured by the Texas GOP and the Medina County GOP for opposing border security efforts.

Despite Gonzales’ censure and weak stance on border security, Musk traveled with the congressman to the border on Thursday.

According to Gonzales, “us on the border feel very abandoned.”

Gonzales said he represents 42 percent of the southern border and the majority of the border in Texas.

During the livestream, it was revealed that Border Patrol agents are being used to process illegal aliens in facilities instead of being out in the field preventing them from crossing.

Musk said Gonzales told him the number of processed illegal border crossings has reached up to 2.5 million, and he suspects the number of unprocessed illegals reaches upward of 4 million.

“Most of the people that are seeking asylum are not going to qualify for asylum. Nine out of 10 actually are not,” said Gonzales.

“Of the 90 percent that do not qualify for asylum, how many are being sent back to the country of origin?” Musk asked Gonzales.

“Zero,” said Gonzales.

With none deported to their country of origin, Gonzales pointed out this sends a message to the rest of the world that the border is open and they will not be sent back.

“There are no repercussions,” said Gonzales. “There has to be repercussions. Once you do that… this goes away. It went away for Trump, it went away for Obama, it went away for Bush, it went away for Clinton, and they [the Biden administration] are not willing to do that and I don’t understand why.”

Gonzales claimed that when he reached out to the White House, he was told the open border isn’t a real problem and is just a political problem: Republicans blaming Democrats, and Democrats blaming Republicans.

“Why do so many American politicians from both parties care 100 times more about the Ukraine border than the USA border?” Musk posted on X after his trip to the border.

Gonzales posted his solutions to the border crisis on X: “America demands the border crisis to END. We must immediately enact these nonpartisan policies. ✅Increase the credible fear standard ✅Surge Immigration Judges to the border ✅Court cases heard in days, not years ✅Boost removal flights through ICE.”

However, Gonzales still refuses to side with House Republicans on stronger border measures.
