With taxpayers expecting lawmakers to adopt bold policy reforms, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility has endorsed Jay Wiley in the Republican primary for Texas House District 47.
“Jay Wiley will fight for the conservative values and principles that Texans hold dear,” said TFR’s president, Michael Quinn Sullivan. “Rather than sit on the sidelines, Jay Wiley will be the bold, commonsense lawmaker taxpayers are demanding.”
Wiley is a seventh generation Texan who has been an energetic advocate for lower taxes and limited government. A graduate of The Citadel military college, Wiley was a policy aide to U.S. Sen. Phil Gramm and founded Austinites for Tax Relief. Jay and his wife Sally have two sons, Dyson (9) and Anders (8). The Wileys are active members of Riverbed Church.
The House District 47 seat currently held by Paul Workman.
Texans for Fiscal Responsibility (www.EmpowerTexans.com) is the largest grassroots organization in the state focused on state and local fiscal and governance policy issues. Endorsements are made in consultation with advisors, subscribers and supporters in each district.
“Texans are looking for reform-minded, no-nonsense candidates who will fight for their constituents rather than serve the corrupt crony-culture of the Capitol,” added Sullivan. “That’s why so many taxpayers in House District 47 are already supporting Jay Wiley, and why we are proud to stand alongside them.”
