More than two weeks after Empower Texans’ Metroplex Bureau contacted Collin College to ask why contact information for the college’s elected Board of Trustees wasn’t publicly available and published online, it is.

Today the college added a “Contact a Board Member” page to its website:

As Texas Scorecard previously reported, community colleges in neighboring Dallas County and Tarrant County make board members’ contact information available on their websites. (North Central Texas College does not – they should.)

We brought Collin College’s attention to the omission and asked them to publish trustees’ contact information online, and now they have.

Still, it’s a shame they had to be asked – and that Collin County residents didn’t have easy access to communicate with college trustees before they approved the $600 million bond proposition that’s currently being voted on.

Voters should have direct access to their elected officials. Collin College trustee constituents now do – and they ought to use it.
