After State Rep. Cindy Burkett (R–Sunnyvale) began retreading debunked personal attacks in her campaign against State Sen. Bob Hall (R–Edgewood), Hall’s wife is speaking out.
In a mail piece released last week, Burkett accuses Hall of domestic violence during a previous marriage. Hall disputes those allegations and a new video released by Hall’s campaign shows Kay Hall, his wife, with an emotional response to the accusations from Burkett.
“I’m a mother, a grandmother, and a proud Texas woman,” Hall begins. “I can’t tell you how utterly disgusted I am by this nasty vile mailer sent out by Cindy Burkett against my husband.”
Kay Hall then goes on to note that the “despicable” domestic violence allegation referenced by Burkett was made “in the aftermath of a nasty divorce” was thrown out in court, exonerating him of the false charge:

The court documents available to Ms. Burkett show my husband was totally exonerated from the false accusations Yet Cindy purposefully, with malice and forethought, sent you the voters an incomplete file which she knows is a lie. My husband has been a tireless conservative servant. Cindy Burkett has proven herself to be a desperate ambitious and self-serving politician who will say and do anything to get elected.

Mrs. Hall’s full response can be viewed below:
