Falling on her sword, Vicki Truitt is calling it quits…for the time being. At the conclusion of the Legislative session three weeks ago State Rep. Vicki Truitt left Austin vowing to come back pushing for higher taxes in the form of increased gas taxes and vehicle fees.

With a special session called it looked as though Truitt was going to be afforded a chance to accomplish her mission.

But thanks in part to the narrow call of the session and the efforts of thousands of Texans speaking out against these taxes Truitt and her taxing peers are in a holding pattern.

Truitt told the Dallas Morning News that the “special session call is too narrow to reconsider it” and that, “its supporters need more time for grassroots organizing anyway.”

Grassroots killed this Legislation during the session and are keeping it dead during the special session.
