Texas Scorecard exists to promote informed civic engagement and the principles of self-governance through enterprise reporting on public policy, politics, government, and culture.

We do not take government funding, because we believe government should fit in a constitution-sized box. We don’t have ads on our website, because we want to be answerable to you and not some woke, out-of-state corporation. We do not sell your information, because we value your privacy. We don’t impose a “paywall” on articles, because in politics someone is always keeping score and – like you – we think it ought to be the citizens.
