Wake Forest is looking for Beeville native Waydale Jones to recover from injury and help lead a successful season.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound wide receiver was redshirted his freshman season after sustaining an injury.

According to Wake Forest’s school website, Jones is originally from Beeville, where he attended A.C. Jones High School.

Jones was a team captain, the 28th top wide receiver in Texas and First Team All-State Class 4A during his high school tenure.

He touted two years of membership with the National Honor Society and an Academic All-State selection.

Wake Forest was 7-6 in their regular football season and 3-5 in their conference this season.

Jones should provide Wake Forest with some extra backing and good hands when he returns to play.
