An alumnae of Cedar Hill High School has earned preseason honors in the Big 12 Conference for soccer.

Messiah Bright, who currently plays soccer at TCU, was placed on the team that was determined by the Big 12 coaches, TCU’s website reported.

As a freshman last year for the Horned Frogs, Bright was the Big 12’s co-freshman of the year and was on the conference’s all-league second team. Her other honors include being named to the USSCA All-Midwest Region second team.

She started 21 games last season, notching 13 points including scoring six goals on 17 shots on goal. Three of her goals were game-winners, which tied for second on the team.

In her freshman and sophomore seasons at Cedar Hill, Bright had 48 goals and 15 assists and was named the 2016 Offensive MVP of District 8-6A. In 2018, she took part in training camps for the U-18 U.S. Women’s National Team in Florida and Switzerland. She also played for Solar Soccer Club.
