Fort Bend, Texas native Dominic Cox has logged impressive freshman and sophomore years for the Rice Owls baseball team.

This year has seen the No. 20 outfielder score three hits in a game against Western Kentucky University on May 3, with two doubles against Old Dominion, one home run and seven RBIs earlier in the season. He had six putouts during a Texas State game on March 26.

As his college bio states, His freshman performance was just as solid, starting in 35 games of 50 he played. His seven bunts last season set a two-year team record, and he delivered base hits three times when bases were loaded — not bad from a ninth-ranked player on the team.

Cox graduated from Travis High School in 2017, where the Tigers had a 32-8 record with him on the team, plus a district championship and an appearance in the state tournament regional semifinals.
