Duke senior reserve kicker Tim Skapek is months away from adding to his family’s Blue Devil legacy.

The 5-foot-8-inch, 180-pound Dallas St. Mark’s School of Texas graduate, who has appeared in two games on four snaps for the ACC school in Durham, North Carolina, will graduate with degrees in mechanical engineering and financial economics in addition to a certificate in aerospace engineering, joining parents Mimi and Steve and older sister Mary as Duke alumni.

Mimi and Steve Skapek both graduated from Duke in 1984. Steve Skapek, who was a four-year member of the Blue Devils swimming program, returned and graduated from the Duke Medical School in 1988. Mary Skapek graduated from Duke three years ago.

Tim Skapek was on two playoff teams at St. Mark’s, as well as earning a spot on the Southern Preparatory Conference All-North Zone team in his last year for the Lions. A two-year letterman under head coach Bart Epperson, he made 95 percent of his field goals.
