Jack York is living his dream as a redshirt freshman offensive lineman for the University of Minnesota.

York, who is 6-foot-6 and 300 pounds, attended First Baptist Academy in Dallas.

As a high school athlete, York anchored an offense averaging 40.7 points per game, tabbed All-Texas in 2017 and received an invitation to play in the 2017 O-D All-American Bowl. He was a three-star recruit and ESPN ranked him 98 for offensive tackle and 159 as an overall recruit in Texas.

Prior to accepting his offer to the University of Minnesota, York was originally committed to San Diego State.

“I can’t thank Coach Horton and Coach Schmidt enough for believing in me and offering me a scholarship and I wish them nothing but the best, but I have just been given an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,” York wrote on his Twitter page in July 2017.

“Growing up and playing offensive line it has always a dream of mine to play in the B1G Ten conference. After visiting with Coach Fleck and his staff I fell in love with everything about the program. I know for a fact that I won’t be able to find a place that’s a better fit for me.”
