Southern Methodist University senior guard Jarrey Foster was announced by a committee as a NABC Good Works Nominee.

The award spotlights men’s college basketball players that have shown outstanding community service ability. The Houston native has a generous heart and has no problem lending a helping hand.

Foster helped SMU lead hurricane relief efforts in Hurricane Harvey in 2017, and once again in Hurricane Florence in 2018.

Outside of basketball, he has racked up numerous accolades as he served as Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), while starting a student-athlete podcast to spread awareness to younger athletes.

He also has received the Athletic Director’s S.P.I.R.I.T. Award for his dedication to the principles of Service, Passion, Integrity, Respect, Innovation and Teamwork.

On the hardwood Foster averaged seven points, while registering three rebounds per contest. He also ranks ninth in Mustangs history books as he has been apart of seventy six wins in his collegiate career. SMU finished the season (15-17, overall).
