Texas A&M’s Courtney Dow, a Frisco native who had a stellar golf career at Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, recently was named an All-American Scholar by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association.

One of the qualifications for the honor is having a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50.

Dow, a rising senior allied health major, had three top-10 individual finishes this season and was named the Southeastern Conference Golfer of the Week on March 20 for winning the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, her first win in her college career.

Dow also has made the SEC Academic Honor Roll three times and was on the SEC Community Service Team.

At Prestonwood Christian Academy, Dow was ranked No. 9 nationally and No. 2 in Texas by Golfweek among recruits for the Class of 2016 and helped lead her team to the 2016 Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools 5A state championship. She also was a Rolex Junior All-American.
