Darius Anderson has gone from the top of the list of football players at George Ranch High School to the watch list of the nation’s top running backs.

Anderson, a senior running back at Texas Christian University, has been placed on the watch list for the Doak Walker Award, given annually to the country’s top running back, TCU’s website recently reported.

Last season, Anderson had 598 rushing yards in 11 games for the Horned Frogs, including 154 yards against Ohio State. He scored three touchdowns and had a per-rush average of 4.8 yards.

Anderson goes into his final season at TCU with a 5.7 yards-per-carry average and 1,595 career rushing yards and 12 scores.

Anderson was ranked as the No. 3 running back by 247Sports.com in his time at George Ranch, where he racked up 2,274 yards and 30 touchdowns in his senior season in leading the Longhorns to the state title.
