Joe Bissinger of the Virginia Cavaliers is expected to bounce back this upcoming football season after being redshirted as a freshman.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound freshman offensive lineman was redshirted this season after sustaining an injury and had signed on early with the University of Virginia in April of 2017.

According to the school’s website, Bissinger is originally from Memorial High School in Houston, where Bissinger was a three-time first-team all-district selection and National Honor Society member. Bissinger chose Virginia over offers from the Air Force, Army, Kansas and Ivy League schools.

The Virginia Cavaliers were 8-5 in their regular football season and 4-4 in their conference this season.

Bissinger should provide the Cavaliers some extra support when he returns to play.
