With three games under his belt as a new member of the Brigham Young football team, Mansfield alum Emmanuel Esukpa is getting nicely acclimated in Provo, Utah.

Esukpa, who stands 5-foot-11-inches and weighs 225 pounds, has found his niche as a reliable ballcarrier for the Cougars, rushing for 80 yards and a score on 18 carries to date in 2019. His best performance was in BYU’s most recent game, a 45-19 loss to Washington on Sept. 21, in which he ran for 49 yards and his first career touchdown as a Cougar.

Prior to enrolling in the Master of Public Administration program at BYU, Esukpa earned a bachelor’s degree from Rice University in Houston, where he played 29 games for the Owls.

While at Mansfield, he was an all-conference and all-district selection.
