Daisy Osakue received her consecutive championship crown as conference officials named her Lone Star Conference Female Field Athlete of the Year.

The honors were announced on Friday following a vote of the league’s head coaches. She opened the season returning as the defending National Champion in the discus throwing. She defended her crown in the 2019 season as she threw 60.26 meters, which was the second best throw in Division II history, while surpassing her own meet record.

The stellar accomplishments she has conquered has allowed her to qualify for the World Championship that will start September 28 in Doha, as she will compete and represent for her home country of Italy. Osakue hopes the winning carries over to her junior campaign as she looks to defend her national crown in the 2019-20 season.
