It’s not just hot-air created by global warming proponents. Now they want your job and family income, too. Have you noticed that the ya-hoos yelling the loudest for policy changes to stave off global warming are usually the same quasi-Marxist ya-hoos who always look for a problem upon which to impose their socialist solutions?<1–break–> Solutions that translate into fewer jobs and a greatly-reduced standard of living, especially in Texas.

A 50-state study of the impact of legislation to “fight” global warming finds that Texas could lose between 93,000 and 140,000 jobs if legislation pending in Congress passes. Household disposable income would go down in Texas by as much as $8,000 per year.

The legislation, America’s Climate Security Act of 2007 (S. 2191), is set to be debated in June.

The full study, presented by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the American Council for Capital Formation (ACCF), is available online.
