Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is taking aim against his opponent, Democrat Mike Collier, in a campaign ad released this week that slams Collier for his relations to President Joe Biden.

Before running for lieutenant governor, Collier fulfilled the role of senior advisor for the Biden-Harris campaign in the 2020 presidential election.

Originally identifying as a Republican, Collier rejected the title years ago and has since launched multiple runs for lieutenant governor.

Throughout the lieutenant gubernatorial race, Collier has taken multiple jabs at Patrick. Previously, none of these jabs caused Patrick to yield and fight back. However, Patrick released an ad this week that poked at Collier’s past as senior advisor for the Biden campaign.

“If you line up [Biden’s] policy point of view with my policy point of view, you don’t see a lot of daylight,” Collier is quoted in the ad.

Patrick argues Collier has seen the failed policies from the Biden administration and, despite their failure, has announced plans to implement them in Texas if he gets elected.

The ad points out that Collier is “against building the border wall and supports the open border” and takes aim at him for holding the mindset that all boys who think that they are girls should be allowed to play in girls’ sports.

“Mike Collier: wrong for lieutenant governor, wrong for Texas,” the ad ends.

The election for lieutenant governor of Texas will take place on November 8.
