Since the regular session ended a number of Second Amendment groups have been calling on Abbott to ask lawmakers to pass constitutional carry in a special session.

This session, lawmakers had one serious pro-gun bill to consider: Constitutional Carry.

Keeping with their tactic of diluting what they cannot destroy, a Texas House committee chose to disappoint Second Amendment advocates and advance anemic legislation instead of adding Texas to the growing number of states that allow constitutional carry.

“This bill means a lot to me because it means so much to my constituents and Texans everywhere. I have yet to see any other bill muster up the level of passion and support that constitutional carry has,” said Stickland.
