The governor will set a date for the runoff election to represent House District 118.
If elected, Lujan would join the other Republicans from San Antonio in supporting the policy, including former House Speaker Joe Straus.
The special election winner will serve out Pacheco’s unexpired term in HD 118.
Candidates must file by Monday to run in the expedited election set for September 28.
