McKinney ISD denied a parent’s request to remove a book containing graphic descriptions of sex and rape, saying it met with the school board’s policy.
“I can’t believe this witch hunt has gone this far,” said McKinney resident Mike Giles.
A special meeting to consider censuring board member Chad Green is set for May 31 at 9:00 a.m.
“I admit I got into the gray area a little bit on that,” McKinney ISD trustee Amy Dankel told the board Tuesday.

Parents say McKinney ISD and other districts need to keep sexually explicit material away from school kids.
Activists intent on ridding schools of what they consider pornography are planning to rally at the district’s next board meeting.
