Beto O’Rourke has earned an endorsement he’d likely rather shake off, as left-wing attention-seeking lawyer Michael Avenatti tweeted his support for the El Paso Congressman running against US Sen. Ted Cruz.

Avenatti burst into the news in recent months for his role in representing adult film “actress” Stormy Daniels in liberals’ continuing assault on President Donald Trump, earning him the nickname “creepy porn lawyer” by Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Avenatti also represented a sexual assault accuser of now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh whose unsubstantiated and highly refuted allegations undermined Democrats’ charges against him and led many Republicans to thank Avenatti for Kavanaugh’s eventual confirmation.

In his tweet, Avenatti, a Californian, says that O’Rourke deserves “all of our support” and declaring that he would make “an excellent senator for Texas.”

Though O’Rourke publicly distanced himself from President Barack Obama last week, saying he “wasn’t interested in an endorsement,” O’Rourke has said nothing in regard to Avenatti.

That said, Texas Democrats, never ones to miss out on an opportunity to beclown themselves, have unabashedly embraced Avenatti. In fact, the Harris County Democrat Party is slated to hold a fundraiser next week featuring Avenatti as the headlining speaker.

Texas Democrats, who have not won a statewide election in the Lone Star State since 1994, are not likely to buck that trend this cycle, especially when they embrace messengers like Avenatti.

Meanwhile Cruz’s re-election campaign has been gaining momentum, with several new polls showing Cruz taking the lead over O’Rourke.

Come election day in November, Texas Republicans may owe a debt of gratitude to the “creepy porn lawyer.
