In a letter to Gov. Greg Abbott, almost 200 grassroots Texans are calling on him and the Texas Legislature to deliver on property tax reform and relief.

“With billions in excess revenue flowing into state coffers over the next two years, Texas lawmakers have an unprecedented opportunity to provide permanent property tax relief to all Texas families, but rather than return money to taxpayers in the form of meaningful property tax relief, legislators have gone on a spending spree,” it begins.

“So far, this legislative session, little has been done to protect taxpayers or encourage conservatives to fight for Republicans in 2020. We call on you to demand better of our Republican legislators before they surrender the state to Democrat control,” it continues.

The letter, which was signed by 195 grassroots political leaders representing 144 unique organizations, groups, and districts across Texas, may be viewed here.
