In Swamp Country, there is a fight between Obama appointee Leandra English and President Trump to lead the bureaucratic, inefficient, and unconstitutional Consumer Financial Protection Board.  (I’ve previously stated we should get rid of all unconstitutional federal agencies and bureaucrats – regardless of political party patronage.)

We can start today with CFPB.  Today’s fight must be won by the president or the Deep State will have been successful in launching a 4th branch of government.

Congress has postured about reining in the CFPB.  Today’s actions by Leandra English demonstrates to the grassroots in Texas that their words are meaningless.  Swift action to protect freedoms and taxpayer dollars must be taken immediately by the Texas Congressional delegation.

Due to inaction, taxpayers and congressional lawmakers woke to these headlines today:

President Trump – using the same powers as Presidents George W. Bush, and Barack Obama – announced that Mick Mulvaney, Senate confirmed appointee to Office of Management and Budget, would become the Acting Director of the CFPB.  Recently departed CFPB Director Richard Cordray named Leandra English as the Acting Director of the CFPB when he stepped down Friday.

Today, Mr. Mulvaney and Ms. English both told CFPB staff they were in charge.  This is a provoked attack by the Deep State on President Trump, his supporters, and the Constitution itself.

Fortunately, Texans chair key committees in Congress that can (and should) implement the Holman Rule. With the help of Rules Committee Chairman Pete Sessions, a mid-Atlantic congressman has reintroduced the Holman Rule.

“It [Holman Rule] was a feature of the House rules until 1983, when Democratic leaders axed it to weaken President Reagan’s congressional allies. Reinstating the Holman Rule will let Members offer amendments to appropriations bills that cut how much they spend or reduce the number and compensation of federal employees,” said Rep. Morgan Griffith of Virginia.

The Holman Rule is a necessary tool to reassert Congress’ Article I responsibility over the federal government and is key to my goal of eliminating unconstitutional federal agencies and bureaucrats.

Texas has the most chairmanships of any state in the House of Representatives.  Already mentioned was Sessions, the Rules Committee Chairman.  We also have the chairmanship of the committee with jurisdiction over CFPB, Jeb Hensarling.  We have 3 of the top seven senior members of the House Appropriations Committee: Kay Granger, John Culberson, and John Carter.  We also have the Senate Majority Whip (John Cornyn) and a senator who earned over 7.8 million votes in the 2016 presidential primary (Ted Cruz).

Surely, one of you can Holman Rule Leandra English’s salary in the upcoming must-pass government funding bill due to expire on December 8, 2017.  While you are at it, you can Holman Rule IRS culprit Lois Lerner’s pension.

Deep State actions against President Trump and conservatives will not be tolerated.  We must shine a light on who acts versus who talks in the days ahead.
