A former McKinney Independent School District athletic trainer is facing new felony charges related to her alleged sexual abuse of a 14-year-old female student.
Lindsey Elizabeth Post, 36, was first arrested in January and charged with sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between educator and student—both second-degree felonies punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison.
On March 25, Post was arrested again while out on bond and charged with two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, also a second-degree felony, and violating a protective order issued as a condition of her bond.
Post is being held in the Collin County Jail with total bonds set at $175,000.
At the time of her first arrest, Post was working as an athletic trainer at McKinney North High School.
Post was accused of grooming the student starting in 2025, both at school and by messaging the girl’s phone. The trainer then allegedly physically assaulted the girl while on campus and in the trainer’s car when she was driving the student to school-sponsored events.
Trustees voted to fire Post in February.
Also in February, the girl’s family filed a lawsuit against Post and McKinney ISD.
Post does not hold a Texas teaching certificate. She is listed as “under investigation” in the state’s Do Not Hire Registry.
She is among hundreds of Texas school employees accused of sex crimes involving students and other children in just the past few years. Thousands have been reported to the TEA for sexual misconduct.
