“All-ages” drag shows have continued to plague Texas, with the most recently exposed spectacle being the monthly “Diva Cakes Drag Brunch” at the Moxy Austin–University, a hotel in downtown Austin.

Hosted by drag queens Diamond Dior and Noodles, the event is always advertised as welcoming of “all-ages,” and admission is completely free.

Both hosts of the brunch consistently dress in lingerie and BDSM-style costumes and have taken part in distinctly perverse photo shoots and performances.

During this weekend’s Diva Cakes Drag Brunch, at least one child—a young boy—was present within the crowd, despite the sexually charged performances.

One of the performers was a scantily clad man in a mini-dress and a pair of black thong panties, with no pants or bottoms aside from the underwear. The man twerked, gyrated, and performed full splits atop a ping pong table. He proceeded to hump and grind on the table while making suggestive faces in front of the audience.

At one point, the little boy hid his face in his mother’s lap while the man humped directly in front of them, the bottom part of the dress pulled up past his hips. Meanwhile, the mother laughed and cheered for the performer, ignoring her child’s disturbed expression.

“The atrocity that took place at Moxy Austin is proof that a drag show for children is nothing more than an atmosphere that allows for the grooming of children,” Texas Family Project President Chris Hopper told Texas Scorecard.

The cheering audience handed the performer dollar bills, which he held in his hand as he continued his blatantly sexual routine.

He continued to dance around and performed a headstand, which revealed his naked buttocks as he jerked his legs around, spreading them completely open at times.

State Rep. Bryan Slaton (R–Greenville) said of the disturbing show, “No child should be sexualized by adults. Even if their parents drive them there. This ‘performer’ needs a psychiatric evaluation and some time in jail.”

“There is unbelievable footage of grown men dressed in thongs, performing full splits and twerking in front of an audience where at least one child was present,” Hopper said. “At what point do we do the right thing, despite what extremist sects in our culture argue? Most of the LGBT community is absolutely opposed to children being present at drag shows. The only ones who want children to be present at drag shows are confused and abusive parents, and subversively demented pedophiles.”

Hopper continued, saying that “Texas Family Project will not stop fighting this chaos.”

“It would be great if most Republican state representatives, the Texas comptroller, the Texas attorney general, and our Republican governor would get on board for the sake of the children!” said Hopper. “The unfortunate truth is that only a handful of champions in the House are concerned about protecting children. We are thankful for State Reps. Slaton, Schatzline, and Tinderholt for undergoing fire from both sides of the aisle to let our voices be heard.”

Legislation has been filed in the Texas House that would prevent children from entering “all-ages” drag shows.

Concerned citizens may use Texas Scorecard’s Elected Officials Directory to ask their elected representative how they plan to vote on such legislation.
