Tonight we had the honor of gathering with hundreds of men & women from across the Great State of Texas at the 2018 Conservative Leaders Gala. Tomorrow morning we’ll tell you about over a dozen Conservative Leaders who were awarded this year, but first…the woman who received this year’s Torch of Freedom.

The Torch of Freedom was created to bestow on the one man or one woman who we believed best set the example in the prior year of shining the light of liberty in the darkest places.

Past recipients have included UT Regent Wallace Hall and Wisconsin Club for Growth Director Eric O’Keefe. The powers-that-be tried to throw both of those men in jail for shining a light on corruption.

Last year, we honored Corley Rinaldi, on behalf of the wives and families of candidates who run for office and face relentless attacks on their personal lives.

This year’s recipient shares the same courage and spirit. She’s gone into the legal system to uncover local corruption and ensure reform, she’s fought tooth and nail to hold politicians accountable for their actions, and she’s blazed a trail for others to make their voices heard.

We are so pleased to have awarded JoAnn Fleming with Torch of Freedom. Not only does JoAnn serve as Executive Director for Grassroots America – We the People, but she is a true patriot, as liberty in Texas knows no truer friend.
