As President Joe Biden announces his 2024 campaign, new polling of general election voters in Texas has former President Donald Trump with a sizeable lead over Biden among Hispanic voters in Texas.

The poll, commissioned by Defend Texas Liberty PAC, shows Trump leading 52-36 percent in a hypothetical matchup against Biden with Hispanic voters.

Among all demographics, Trump leads Biden 45-42 percent.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has not yet announced his presidential campaign, also leads Biden among all general election voters 44-40 percent. Among Hispanic voters, his lead is 42-30 percent.

The same polling shows Texas voters aligning with the Republican Party of Texas on a number of key issues currently being debated in the Legislature.

Sixty percent of voters say it should be illegal to “sexually transition their children through permanent puberty blockers and transition surgery,” compared to 23 percent that say it should be legal.

Similarly, 60 percent of voters say parents should not be allowed to take their children to sexually explicit drag shows, with 26 percent saying they should.
