A now-former Allen elementary school teacher pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a student but will serve no time in jail.
Austin Douglas White, 30, was indicted in June 2025 on four counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, a second-degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison.
White was teaching at Preston Elementary in the Allen Independent School District at the time of the crimes, which occurred in the Fall of 2024. He was placed on leave in October 2024 when the district received reports of his “inappropriate” conduct with a student at Curtis Middle School.
On March 26, 2026, White entered a guilty plea in the 296th District Court of Judge John Roach and was sentenced to 10 years of deferred adjudication probation.
The court found that “the evidence and Defendant’s plea substantiates the Defendant’s guilt of the offense beyond a reasonable doubt as charged in the indictment,” according to court records.
If White completes the terms of his probation, the charges will be dismissed and he will not be convicted of the crimes. His sentence included 30 days in jail, which was probated.
White must register as a sex offender for life. Other terms of his probation include:
- No direct communication with victim or victim’s family.
- No contact with minors except biological children.
- Protective order for victim.
- Return of phone if he “wipes” the device.
- Forfeiture of his teaching license.
White permanently surrendered his teaching certificate in December 2024.
He was first certified to teach in 2020 and began working for Allen ISD in the 2020-21 school year.
White is among hundreds of Texas teachers and school employees accused of sex crimes involving students and other children in just the past few years in districts across the state—including in Allen ISD.
Thousands of educator sexual misconduct complaints have been reported to the Texas Education Agency.
