Another Texas educator is accused of having an “inappropriate relationship” with a student.

Officials in Shallowater Independent School District confirmed that an unnamed district employee has been placed on leave while officials investigate the allegations.

The district released a press statement February 6:

Shallowater ISD was made aware of an allegation against a district employee after hours on Monday, February 2nd.  The employee was placed on administrative leave the following morning, Tuesday, February 3rd.

 

The District is fully cooperating with law enforcement while the investigation is ongoing.

 

Because it is an active investigation, the District is unable to share additional details at this time. We ask for understanding as the process moves forward and for respect for the privacy of all individuals involved.

 

Shallowater ISD takes all allegations of this nature extremely seriously and remains committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for every student.

Shallowater ISD is a B-rated district in Lubbock County with about 1,700 students.

Hundreds of Texas school employees have been accused of sex crimes involving students and other children, and thousands have been reported to the Texas Education Agency for sexual misconduct.
