A Crime Stoppers “Featured Felon” arrested in Montgomery County on a charge of sexually abusing a child was found to be employed by a local school district.
Michael Alan Perry, 43, was arrested Wednesday and charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony.
Perry works for the Conroe Independent School District. The district’s staff roster shows his position as “Lead Warehouse, Finance Department.”
A media advisory on Perry’s arrest shows him wearing a shirt with the Conroe ISD logo. He was arrested at the district’s Central Warehouse on Geffert Wright Road.
Conroe ISD has not yet responded to a request for information about when district officials hired Perry and whether they conducted a background check.
Perry was included on this week’s “Featured Felons” list published by Multi-County Crime Stoppers, which assists law enforcement in Montgomery, Liberty, and San Jacinto counties.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Perry was arrested “for felony warrants” by MCSO and Conroe Police Department personnel, “who are members of the USMS Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force alongside US Marshals,” with assistance from Conroe ISD.
An MSCO representative told Texas Scorecard that charges against Perry for a “related incident” date back to 2024. No other details are currently available.
Perry is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
In just the past few years, hundreds of Texas school employees have been accused of sex crimes involving children.
