UPDATED May 5.

A Duncanville Independent School District teacher and coach has been accused of being a “peeping Tom,” secretly spying on female students to gratify his sexual desire.

Garrett Michael Davis was arrested and charged with voyeurism, a state-jail felony.

Davis is a math teacher and assistant football coach at Duncanville High School.

According to the Duncanville Police Department, which made the arrest on May 1, the district placed Davis on administrative leave and is cooperating fully with the investigation.

“The charges stem from an investigation initiated after reports were made to school administrators, referred to the Duncanville ISD Police Department, and subsequently requested to be investigated by the Duncanville Police Department,” DPD wrote in a statement.

An arrest affidavit obtained by Fox 4 News revealed that a tip from a former Duncanville ISD educator led the district police to discover Davis had exchanged sexually explicit messages with a female student, including photos showing Davis’ genitals and the student in a bikini.

Police said Davis also messaged other Duncanville ISD teachers about wanting to have sex with specific students and admitted to secretly recording videos of female students in the hallways of Duncanville High School that focused on the girls’ private areas.

Duncanville ISD issued a statement on May 1 indicating that the district’s police department was “made aware of allegations of an improper relationship between a Duncanville ISD teacher and a student” on April 13.

“Upon becoming aware of the allegations, the district acted immediately to remove the individual’s access to students and made all required reports in accordance with district policy and state law,” wrote district spokeswoman Ana Avila. “We appreciate the individual who came forward to report this information. Their willingness to speak up played an important role in bringing this matter to light.”

Avila said there may be additional victims.

“Duncanville ISD takes these matters very seriously, and the safety and well-being of students remain the district’s highest priority,” added Avila.

Online records show Davis began working for Duncanville ISD in the 2024-25 school year.

Davis received an intern teaching certificate for math in September 2024, which expired in September 2025.

The investigation into Davis remains ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Duncanville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 972-780-5037.

Davis is among a growing number of Texas school employees accused of sex crimes involving students and other children in just the past few years. Thousands have been reported to the Texas Education Agency for sexual misconduct.
