June is officially “Nuclear Family Month” in the North Texas city of Fate.
Mayor Andrew Greenberg issued the proclamation during the June 1 Fate City Council meeting.
The proclamation recognizes the nuclear family—one husband, one wife, and their biological, adopted, or foster children—as “the fundamental building block of a healthy and flourishing society.”
“As one of the fastest-growing communities in Texas, Fate seeks to preserve the family-oriented values and strong sense of Christian community that continue to attract families seeking a safe and welcoming place to live, worship, and raise children,” Greenberg proclaimed.
The proclamation concludes by encouraging “all citizens to reflect on the importance of the God-ordained nuclear family structure and continue working to strengthen and protect the traditional values of our city, county, state, and country.”
Many Fate residents applauded the mayor’s proclamation.
Others complained that it was “hateful” to celebrate families instead of declaring June a sex-themed LGBT “Pride Month” as then-President Bill Clinton first did in 1999.
Fate isn’t the first to reclaim June for traditional values.
Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signed a resolution proposed in 2025 and passed by the legislature in April 2026 designating June as “Traditional Nuclear Family Month” statewide.
The resolution rejects “humanistic, globalist ideologies” that promote population control, declaring that “the nuclear family is under attack in our beloved State and nation, and it is our responsibility to uplift, protect, and support values that help Tennessee prosper.”
Indiana Gov. Mike Braun issued a proclamation designating June 2026 “Nuclear Family Month” in the Hoosier State.
“Strong families are the most effective means to raise children into capable adults,” reads Braun’s executive order. “As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United State of America, we recognize that growing and strengthening families is critical to the next 250 years.”
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has proclaimed June 2026 as “Strong Families Month” in her state, recognizing “the importance of encouraging strong families and supporting values that help children and communities thrive.”
One Rockwall County resident told Texas Scorecard she hopes more mayors will follow Fate and other states in proclaiming similar pro-family sentiments.
