The bond package will appear on the November 3 ballot.

Trustees of the Irving Independent School District have placed a bond package totaling nearly $1 billion, before interest, on the November 3, 2026, ballot.

Irving ISD serves approximately 29,000 PreK-12 students.

The bond focuses on funding for campus replacements, district-wide improvements, technology updates, and student program facilities.

Three different propositions will appear on the ballot:

Proposition A – $852.2 million to replace five campuses and fund safety and security, career and technical education, fine arts, and campus renovations.

Proposition B – $40 million for technology updates for both students and staff.

Proposition C – $60.2 million for the construction of three indoor multi-purpose facilities.

The district has not yet posted documents showing how much interest on the approximately $952 million bond package will add to the cost.

The district currently has more than $1.1 billion in outstanding debt, principal and interest, according to the Bond Review Board.

There is a projected $0.1250 increase to the tax rate if the bond package is approved, which would increase the property taxes on a $340,000 home with a $140,000 homestead exemption by about $250 annually.

Spring 2026 STAAR test results show that less than half of district students in grades 3-8 are meeting or mastering grade-level math standards.

Scores in reading show that less than half of students meet grade-level expectations, from a low of 31 percent in 3rd grade to a high of 41 percent in 7th grade.

In 2023, voters approved three out of 5 bond propositions, totaling $573,750,000. The largest of the propositions in the package focused on funding for the replacement of three school campuses, renovation to 32 other campuses in the district, the construction of “tuition-based employee childcare centers,” a career and technical education center, fine arts transportation and equipment, and safety and security upgrades.

The remaining two approved propositions focused on funding for technology updates and the replacement of the student transportation and logistics center.

Irving ISD voters will have the opportunity to either approve or reject the new proposed bond package on the November 3, 2026 ballot. Early voting will run from October 19 through October 30.
