A teacher’s aide in the Pasadena Independent School District is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old special-needs student several times while on campus.

Vanessa Aguilar, 22, was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14, a first-degree felony.

The alleged assaults occurred in February 2026, while Aguilar was working as an aide in the boy’s classroom at Queens Intermediate School.

Court documents obtained by Fox 26 Houston stated that the student told authorities Aguilar took him to a separate room at the school to perform sexual acts at least three times.

The teacher’s aide admitted to investigators that she had written a sexual note to the student.

Aguilar was booked into the Harris County Jail on April 15. Bond is set at $500,000.

Pasadena ISD released a statement acknowledging “the arrest of a former district employee in connection with an alleged aggravated sexual assault of a minor that reportedly occurred on a district campus.”

Upon learning of the allegations, Pasadena ISD immediately reported the matter to law enforcement. The individual is no longer employed by the district. Pasadena ISD remains firmly committed to the safety and wellbeing of all students. Counseling and support resources are available for any student who may need assistance. Because this is an active criminal investigation, Pasadena ISD will not comment further on the specifics of the allegations or the investigation at this time.

State records show eight people named Vanessa Aguilar hold educational aide certificates; one is under review by the Texas Education Agency.

Over the past few years, hundreds of Texas school employees have been accused of sex crimes against students and other children, and thousands have been reported to the TEA for sexual misconduct.
