An 18-year-old already jailed on a murder charge from a house party shooting last year has now been charged with a second murder in a Midtown nightclub shooting that happened in April.
Jefferson Velasquez has been charged with murder in the 174th Criminal District Court in connection with the April 27 shooting outside the Diosa nightclub near Milam and Rosalie streets.
Officers responded to a shooting call in a business parking lot at 3017 Milam Street around 2 a.m. and found three people with gunshot wounds. One of them, 27-year-old Noah Ramirez, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Investigators determined a fight inside the club spilled into the parking lot before the shooting.
Ramirez’s father, Jesus Ramirez, said that his son was not a troublemaker and had plans to return to college, get married, and have children. “I just want justice for him,” he said. “I just don’t understand why they did what they did. It’s just painful and something I’ll never know or understand, I just want the person responsible to pay for what they did.”
Velasquez was already in Harris County custody at the time of the April shooting for a separate murder charge stemming from an August 30, 2025, shooting at a party of roughly 200 people in East Harris County.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said 17-year-old Angel Garcia was killed after being approached by Velasquez and others in what investigators described as a possibly targeted confrontation. Many witnesses at the party were minors and left the scene before deputies could interview them, which slowed the investigation for months.
Velasquez was arrested for Garcia’s murder in June 2026, and a second suspect, 19-year-old Enrique Aguilar, was also arrested in connection with that shooting.
Records show a pattern connecting the two cases beyond the large-gathering setting, with Velasquez also accused of robbing people of their chains at large parties. He faces separate aggravated robbery charges tied to those alleged incidents in addition to the two murder charges. His combined bonds total $800,000.
Records show Velasquez is a citizen of El Salvador and has an immigration hold placed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. His defense attorney, Keaton Forcht, has not commented on the new murder charge.
Harris County’s jail has consistently ranked at or near the top nationally for the number of ICE detainers lodged against inmates.
