A Carrollton Police Department employee assigned as a school resource officer in Lewisville is under investigation following a complaint that he had an “improper relationship” with a 17-year-old student in 2008.

The complaint against Officer Forest Cole Langston was received on May 8, according to a statement released Wednesday by Carrollton PD.

Langston is assigned as a resource officer in Lewisville Independent School District, but the alleged victim is a former student from a different district.

Police Information Officer Bailey Clampitt confirmed to Texas Scorecard that the district was Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD.

“It is believed the allegations of improper relationship do not involve any misconduct occurring on any school property,” stated Clampitt.

Carrollton PD records show Langston has worked at Arbor Creek Middle School, Indian Creek Elementary, and Homestead Elementary in Lewisville ISD.

Langston is on administrative leave from the department pending investigation. He has served as a Carrollton police officer for 32 years.

The officer is not currently listed on Lewisville ISD’s roster of School Resource Officers. School social media posts indicate Langston has worked at district schools for at least 10 years.

In response to a request for more information about Langston’s history with the district, Lewisville ISD spokeswoman Samantha FitzPatrick stated, “The district does not employ officers,” and said questions about Langston’s employment status “can be directed to the PD.”

Carrollton police encourage anyone with information about any improper relationship involving Langston to come forward.

Improper relationship between educator and student includes sexual contact or sexually explicit communication with a student, regardless of the student’s age.

The offense is a second-degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison.

Hundreds of Texas school employees have been accused of sex crimes against students and other children in just the past few years.

Thousands of cases of educator sexual misconduct have been reported to the state since the Texas Education Agency began keeping organized records.
