Travis County Commissioners are doing their best to make sure taxpayers aren’t stuck paying the bill for county employees’ parking and toll violations.

KXAN reports that Travis County employees have racked up more than $10,000 in unpaid parking tickets and toll road fees over the course of several years. County Judge Samuel Biscoe is spearheading a newly formed committee tasked with assigning blame for outstanding tickets and putting a policy in place that will prevent a repeat of this scenerio.

Of course, with multiple departments and thousands of vehicles registered to the county, assigning blame to individuals in all cases will be next to impossible. Therefore, fees left over will be paid out of the general fund, A.K.A., your wallet.

Just last month the Travis County Commissioners voted to give all county employees a three-percent raise.
