Lubbock taxpayers should be a little teed. It seems the company which leases the city’s golf course hasn’t been paying rent, and no one will comment because it is “sensitive and classified information.” Since when did skipping out on the taxpayers become an issue of national security?

The city’s chief financial officer during the years of missing payments recently resigned his position, according to the local television station that dug up the story. City councilmembers said they were unaware of the delinquent payments from Evergreen Alliance Golf Limited until being contacted by the media.

Maybe TSA should be called in to strip-search the city’s finance department…
