The orwellian-named “Parent PAC” (which actively opposes parent involvement in the education of their children) has unsurprisingly endorsed the liberal lawyer in El Paso’s H.D. 78 race. They are apparently the only ones. The El Paso Times reports the conservative in the race has a 12-point lead.

Liberal lawyer Joe Moody has been in the press in El Paso of late for his derogatory comments about the military (in a city that takes pride in Fort Bliss). He’s been trying to explain away blog postings that make him look, at a minimum, young and reckless.

It’s no surprise Moody was endorsed by the Parent-less PAC. One assumes he’ll be a rather reliable vote for government employee unions, high taxes, and unaccountable spending.

Fortunately, the people in El Paso know better.

The commonsense candidate in the race, businessman Dee Margo, has a substantive record of community service — including working closely with Fort Bliss to ensure those soldiers are actively embraced by the community.

He’s also willing to hold government spending accountable for results. With Dee Margo in the Legislature, we can expect a strong voice calling for change taxpayers can believe in — the kind that demands our tax dollars be used wisely, our economy free, and our kids well-educated.
