An East Texas teacher was sentenced to at least 20 years in prison after admitting to child sexual abuse crimes.
Hillary Danielle Williams, 34, waived her right to a jury trial and pleaded guilty to possession with intent to promote child pornography, indecency with a child by sexual contact, and bestiality.
Judge Todd Kassaw of the 159th District Court in Angelina County sentenced Williams to 20 years for indecency with a child, 20 years for possessing child sexual abuse material, and 2 years for the bestiality charge.
The sentences could run concurrently or consecutively.
Williams was a math teacher in the Wells Independent School District at the time of her first arrest in February 2025 on the child pornography and bestiality charges, both felonies.
She and her boyfriend, Michael Scott McCary, were arrested after police found child sexual abuse images and video of her performing a sexual act on a male dog on their phones.
Williams was arrested again in June 2025 on a charge of indecency with a child by sexual contact, a second-degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison, after the child told police about the contact and also said Williams was practicing witchcraft.
State records show Williams has held a teaching certificate since 2015, which is under review by the Texas Education Agency.
Williams taught junior high and high school math in Wells ISD from 2024 until she was allowed to resign last February.
Online records show she previously taught in Jacksonville and Rusk ISDs.
Over the past few years, a growing number of Texas school employees have been accused of sex crimes against students and other children, and thousands have been reported to the TEA for sexual misconduct.
