Dominique Alexander, leader of the leftist Next Generation Action Network, is under investigation by the Dallas Police Department for an accusation of assault.

NGAN is a member of the coalition that proposed the series of controversial reforms of Dallas’ Citizens Police Review Board that the Dallas City Council will vote on at its meeting on April 24.

The accusation of assault was filed with the police after Jeff Hood, a Dallas pastor and partner with Alexander, was contacted by the accuser on Tuesday. Hood went with the accuser to a hospital before contacting the police.

“The anger that pervades Dominique is a sickness,” Hood stated. “It has to be addressed and dealt with.” Hood went on to argue that Alexander, who is described as having a rather long criminal record, should be given an opportunity to be rehabilitated.

Earlier this month, at a meeting of the Dallas City Council where they were officially briefed on the proposed reforms, Alexander led a mob that confronted Dallas Police Association President Michael Mata while he was being interviewed by local news organizations.

“Why can’t you condemn black women getting brutalized?” Alexander demanded.

Dallas police confirmed that their “family violence unit” has launched an investigation into the accusation against Alexander.
