Republican State Rep. Briscoe Cain (Deer Park) sat down with Texas Scorecard Capitol Correspondent Jeramy Kitchen to discuss several of the more controversial pieces of legislation he directly impacted over the course of the multiple legislative sessions lawmakers took part in this year, including things like election integrity, social media censorship protections, the Texas Heartbeat Act, proposed House rule changes regarding committee chairmanships, and others.

Cain was first elected in 2016, ousting liberal Republican incumbent Wayne Smith. Cain currently serves as the Texas House Elections Committee chairman, and he is one of the founding members of the Texas Freedom Caucus.
