As the Trump administration continues sweeping measures to undo damage at the southern border caused by the Biden administration’s policies, Gov. Greg Abbott has directed the Texas military to work with federal authorities to secure the border.

Abbott deployed the Texas Tactical Border Force on Monday morning to help U.S. Border Patrol agents put the area on lockdown.

The force—departing today from Fort Worth and Houston—includes over 400 soldiers, C-130s, and Chinook helicopters to support thousands of National Guardsmen already at the border.

“Texas has a partner in the White House we can work with to secure the Texas-Mexico border,” Abbott said. “To support that mission, today, I deployed the Texas Tactical Border Force, comprised of hundreds of troops, to work side-by-side with U.S. Border Patrol agents to stop illegal immigrants from entering our country and to enforce immigration laws.”

The governor stated that Texas has held the line against the Biden administration’s worsening of the crisis over the past four years as well as their neglect of American citizens. He explained that the country now has a federal government that is geared towards ending the border crisis.

“I thank President Donald Trump for his decisive leadership on the southern border and look forward to working with him and his Administration to secure the border and make America safe again,” Abbott concluded.

Meanwhile, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents continue targeted enforcement operations of known criminal illegal aliens who pose threats to national security. Simultaneously, ICE is also lodging hundreds of immigration detainers.

The federal government issues immigration detainers to state or local law enforcement when it needs illegal aliens to be held in custody for enough time to be transferred to the custody of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

ICE is also releasing daily enforcement updates on social media platform X. Since January 23, its targeted operations have resulted in the arrest of 2,373 illegal aliens.

A total of 956 potentially dangerous foreign nationals were arrested on Sunday alone. These are the most recent figures from ICE.
